The Management Student Family Association (IKAMMA), the Faculty of Economics and Business UGM held the grand event of the Young Entrepreneur Show (YES!) 2024 with the theme "From Zero to Hero" at the Innovation and Creativity Center (GIK UGM) on Saturday (09/11/2024) and Sunday (10/11/2024). The Young Entrepreneur Show (YES!) serves as a platform for students and young people to develop their entrepreneurial spirit under the guidance of IKAMMA and CSDU FEB UGM. The event includes various activities such as the YES! We Talk talk show, YES! We Connect networking dinner, YES! We Explore Business Exhibition and YES! X CSDU Business Incubation Pitching.
In his opening speech, YES! CEO Rayhan Maulana Ahmada (Management 2023) expressed his hope that YES! could become a platform for students to gain experience, tips and knowledge in building a business. IKAMMA's Vice President, Amanda Divanti, also emphasized that YES! is part of IKAMMA's commitment to contribute to society, especially by fostering entrepreneurial spirit among students.
Speaking at the event, the Secretary of the Management Study Program at FEB UGM, Dr. Rangga Almahendra, said that in the digital age, the campus serves not only as a place to study but also as a facilitator for student development, one which is through the YES! event. Event. Meanwhile, CSDU FEB UGM President Director Arizona Mustika Rini expressed her enthusiasm for this year's YES! Event. Arizona hopes that the collaboration between CSDU and YES! will help students build businesses that align with the vision and mission of FEB UGM to create future leaders ready to lead.
GIK UGM's Head of Community Outreach, Bambang Paningron, also welcomed the hosting of YES! at GIK UGM. According to him, as the largest superhub in Southeast Asia, GIK UGM is an ideal place to connect academia with industry, including through events like YES! Finally, the Head of Entrepreneurship at DiskopUKM DIY expressed his hope that students' entrepreneurial spirit could contribute to the sustainability of the entrepreneurship ecosystem in Yogyakarta.
The event then continued with a pitching session where each of the 12 teams in the YES! X CSDU Business Incubation presented their business plans in a 20-minute session to four judges who are experts in the business field.
On the second day, Sunday (10/24), the event kicked off with workshops from Paragon and Coca-Cola discussing their business development and innovations. Following the workshops, the winners of the YES! X CSDU Business Incubations were announced: first place went to Team Cuible, second place to Team Loca-Loca, and third place to Kakolie Beauty. Each winning team received a business funding prize of IDR 10,000,000.
It is hoped that YES! will further encourage FEB UGM students' interest in direct business practice. This is in line with FEB UGM's vision and mission to produce young leaders and entrepreneurs in Indonesia while supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) number 1 (No Poverty), 4 (Quality Education), 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), 10 (Reducing Inequalities), and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
