In order to further introduce financial literacy and residential property funding to students and the general public, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (FEB UGM) together with PT Sarana Multigriya Finansial (Persero) held a public lecture with the theme “Hard to Have a Home? Says who?” on Thursday (17/11). The public lecture was opened with opening speech by Ananta Wiyogo, as the Main Director of PT Sarana Multigriya Finansial (Persero), and was filled in by two expert speakers, namely Dodok Dwi Handoko, as KND Study Staff of the Ministry of Finance, and Martin Daniel, as Chief Economist of PT Sarana Multigriya Finansial (Persero).

Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) in collaboration with The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB International) held an Information Session Forum titled as "Establishing Continuous Improvement Strategies for Business Schools in Indonesia" for two days on Wednesday (9 /11) and Thursday (10/11) at the Auditorium Room, Learning Center Building, FEB UGM. Present at the event were two people from AACSB International, namely, Geoff Perry (Executive Vice President, Global Chief Membership Officer and Managing Director, Asia Pacific) and Liyan Chen (Senior Accreditation and Member Services Manager).

In collaboration with the ANU Indonesia Project, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) is holding an annual public policy forum series titled Mubyarto Public Policy Forum with the theme "Is ignorance bliss? An experimental approach to estimating unregulated corruption” on Friday (4/11). This forum took place as a form of respect for Professor Mubyarto, a prominent economist at UGM, who was also one of the most influential Indonesian intellectuals on rural development issues in the 1960s and 1990s.

Recently, the interest of high school graduates in accounting study programs is suspected to have decreased. One of the triggering factors is the emergence of digital technology which is predicted to displace accounting services by automating accounting work. In fact, in this information age, the role of accounting is very much needed. This perception risks distorting the understanding of the accounting study program for prospective high school graduates, which is feared to result in a decrease in the quantity and quality of prospective students in the accounting study program of Faculty of Economics and Business UGM (FEB UGM).

The basic function of accounting is to provide financial information and as an instrument of accountability for financial managers in both business and the public sector. In general, the public recognizes the role of accounting in the banking sector, public accountants, BUMN, et cetera as accountants or auditors. However, in fact, the role of graduates majoring in accounting today is not limited to that role. Now, accounting scholars can, and are even required to, take part in efforts to eradicate and prevent corruption. In connection with this topic, on Saturday (29/10) the Center for the Study of Accounting Education (PKAP) Accounting Laboratory, Department of Accounting, Faculty of Economics and Business UGM (FEB UGM) held a National Seminar with the theme “Bachelor of Accounting and Prevention of Corruption.”

Thursday (27/10) the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) held the Brown Bag Seminar. The seminar was held in the Auditorium Room, 8th floor of the FEB UGM Learning Center Building. In carrying out this seminar, FEB UGM collaborated with MD FEB UGM and the FEB UGM Laboratory. The speaker at this seminar was Wisnu Setiadi Nugroho, SE, M.Sc., Ph.D., as a Lecturer in the Department of Economics, FEB UGM, with the topic presented "Geographical Poverty In Rural Indonesia: Isolation and Disasters."
