The tunes of jazz music was heard at the Grand Pacific Hall in Yogyakarta on Saturday evening (3/11). The 24th UGM Jazz concert was organised by Faculty of Economics and Business UGM. It was first organised in 1987 by the name of Economic Jazz Live. But since 2000, it became UGM Jazz.

Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and PT. Bank Mandiri, Tbk. collaborated in holding the "Mandiri Edukasi 2018" event on Friday (26/10), at Auditorium Learning Center FEB UGM, 8th-floor. The event, which is held every year, aims to support and enhance the entrepreneurial skill of UGM’s students. The event was opened by Gelar Ginanjar as Assistant Vice President of Bank Mandiri followed by a speech by Hargo Utomo, Ph.D., as Directorate Development Business and Incubation UGM. As a token of gratitude, both parties hand over souvenirs to each other, represented by Linda Permatasari as the Head of Bank Mandiri Yogyakarta Area and Hargo Utomo, Ph.D., then the final agenda was a photo session with Mandiri Edukasi 2018’s participants.

On Monday (10/22), an event with the topic of the introduction of AACSB Continuous Improvement Review and preparation of AACSB 2019 Re-accreditation was held at 8th floor of the Learning Center Building Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) at 12.00 WIB. The event, which was initially proposed by the Quality Assurance Office of FEB UGM, was attended by Dean and Vice Deans, lecturers and Study Program’s managers of FEB UGM.

The rupiah exchange rate has reached past Rp15,000 per US dollar in recent weeks. It slumps to the lowest value in this year, even since the Asian Crisis in 1998.
Several policies have been issued by the government and Bank Indonesia. The falling value of rupiah followed by the declining Composite Stock Price Index (CSPI) raises several questions regarding Indonesia’s economic fundamentals.

The number of potential candidates of Calon Pegawai Negeri Sipil (CPNS) or Civil Servant has been predicted to reach 5 million registrants. The data in the official State Personnel Agency website, sscn.bkn.go.id, had noted approximately 2.8 million applicants from all over Indonesia while the number of open job vacancies is 238,015 vacancies. Thus, it means that there would be an intense competition in this year.

On Wednesday, 10 October 2018, an info session was held by Singapore Management University (SMU), a partner university of Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM). This event contained information about the scholarship for Ph.D. Program held by SMU. The info session began at 10:00, in Kertanegara room, 2nd floor East Wings FEB UGM’s building, which was attended by lecturers and bachelor students of FEB UGM and several master students.
