The competition itself was held in collaboration with Bisnis Indonesia Daily, calls students from master programs or professional Schools to compete in solving real-life business problem. The solution will be judged based on rigorousness of the analysis, creativity and the relevancy to the problem. The selected teams will get a chance to
meet and present their ideas in front of prominent academia, government, business and media executives during the Master Journey in Management (MJM) event. The winning team will receive prized award. Congratulation!

The Office of Academic Exchange Programs in the Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, is pleased to announce a new exchange program for undergraduate students-the 2008 Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD).
The Global UGRAD Program provides scholarships for one semester or one academic year of U.S. Study in a NON-DEGREE Program. The goals of the program are to provide a diverse group of emerging student leaders, from non-elite and under represented groups in Indonesia and East Asia.

On Wednesday, 18 February, Faculty of Economics and Business welcome the international students who join the student exchange program at the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) during 1 semester (semester II 2008/2009). The welcome break begins at 13.00 until 14.00 at Faculty Lounge FEB UGM. The purpose of this event is to welcome and introduce the faculty itself to the exchange students. It is attended by the Prof. Marwan Asri, MBA., Ph.D as the Dean, Amirullah Setya Hardi, S.E., Cand.Oecon as Assistant of Vice Dean for Student, Alumni, Cooperation and Business Development and 2 staffs of the Office of International Affairs, Undergraduate Program FEB UGM.
In this semester, IUP FEB UGM receive 13 exchange students: 5 students of Hochschule Pforzheim University Germany, 1 student of Hochschule Bremen University Germany, 2 students of University of Groningen the Netherlands, 2 students of Arnhem Business School the Netherlands and 3 students of escem France.

Such community event where all faculty members together with their families flocked to the faculty ground for enjoying various games and competitions, door prices, amusements as well as meals and beverages was part of the faculty anniversary agenda. While the women were busy with their knitting competition, the man hold lively sack race and table tennis, the children played together exuberantly, and joined the drawing competition, burble games, balloon waving, etc. The Family Day was officially opened by the dean, Prof. Marwan Asri, MBA, Ph.D, at 7.00 AM and it was closed at 12.30 PM. It was really a day of fun for everyone.
Within the age of 54 years, may the cooperative and harmonious relationship between the academic members as well their family last forever and get much better in the future.

This year UGM held another Research and History Week 2009 with theme “60 years of synergizing the potential of Society Resources". The event officially opened by Prof. Ir. Sudjarwadi, M. Eng, Ph.D the Rector of Gadjah Mada took place at the Graha Sabha Pramana on Tuesday (21/7).The opening was symbolized by the cutting of the ribbon.
In his welcoming speech, he explained that the results of the researches can foster every one else to conduct the same activity. In the future, the results of the research can be used for the benefit of the society and for the prosperity enhancement of the nation.
“The research results are expected to be the inspiration for every body and to be useful for the benefits of the nation".
