The volleyball team from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (FEB UGM) achieved success at the 2025 UGM Inter-Faculty and Unit Volleyball Invitational. The FEB UGM men’s team claimed victory in the final match after defeating UGM Residence with a score of 3-1 at the UGM Sports Hall on Thursday evening (11/12/2025).
The FEB UGM men’s team achieved this victory through a hard-fought battle. After losing the first set, the FEB team, led by Muhammad Fatkurozi, managed to bounce back in the following three sets, dominating the match. This victory is a significant achievement, as the FEB UGM team managed to defeat UGM Residence, the defending champions for seven consecutive years.
Meanwhile, the FEB UGM women’s team secured third place alongside the RSA UGM team. Previously, in the semi-finals, the FEB UGM team lost to the KPTU UGM team with a narrow score of 1-2. Subsequently, in the final round, the FTP team defeated the KPTU team with a score of 3-0.
The coach of the FEB men’s team, Dwi Andalas, said that the FEB UGM team lost the first set by a narrow margin due to pressure at critical points and a lack of focus among the players.
“We lost the first set by a narrow margin due to mental pressure at crucial points, coupled with the fact that the FEB team’s serves were unable to put pressure back on our opponents,” he explained.
Entering sets 2, 3, and 4, the FEB UGM men’s team aimed to refine their game strategy and enhance their teamwork. They began by attacking through serves, creating varied attacks, and reading their opponents’ strategies.
“We built a winning mentality and minimised our own mistakes so that we could play well and win the match,” he said.
