The Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) officially launched a series of events to commemorate its 71st Anniversary through a kick-off event held on Wednesday (June 10). This year’s celebration carries the theme, “Fostering Inclusive and Innovative Leaders for Sustainable Economics and Business.”
The theme reflects FEB UGM’s commitment to nurturing future leaders in economics and business who possess inclusive perspectives, innovative mindsets, and a strong orientation toward sustainability.
In his remarks, the Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Didi Achjari, stated that this year’s anniversary celebration will feature a variety of academic and non-academic activities involving members of the academic community and institutional partners.
The 71st Anniversary series will include academic events such as international conferences, national seminars, the Global Summer Week, and a senate meeting. Non-academic activities will feature alum gatherings, sports competitions, social service programs, visits to retired faculty and staff, pilgrimage activities, blood donation drives, music concerts, and a Family Fun Day.
“We hope that all of the planned activities will go ahead successfully. Achieving this will require support from all parties, including professional staff, faculty members, and Kafegama,” he explained.
Meanwhile, the Chair of the 71st Anniversary Committee, Naya Hapsari, Ph.D., emphasized that the anniversary celebration is more than a commemoration of the faculty’s age. It also serves as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration and foster a spirit of togetherness among the entire FEB UGM community in supporting the faculty’s vision and expanding its contribution to society.
For more than seven decades, FEB UGM has continuously strived to produce graduates and scholarly contributions that create a positive impact on sustainable economic and business development. This commitment aligns with the theme of the 71st Anniversary, which underscores the importance of inclusive and innovative leadership in addressing global challenges.
