The Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) is committed to supporting efforts toward sustainable peacebuilding in Aceh through cooperation with Badan Reintegrasi Aceh. This commitment was formalized through the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) and the hosting of a seminar titled “Peacebuilding in Post-Conflict Aceh,” which took place in the Lippo Room of the FEB UGM Master of Science and Doctoral Program on Friday, July 17.
The Cooperation Agreement was signed in person by the Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Didi Achjari, S.E., M.Com., Ak., CA., and the Chair of Badan Reintegrasi Aceh , Jamaluddin, S.H., M.Kn. The collaboration will focus on conducting scientific research on sustainable peacebuilding in Aceh as part of efforts to resolve conflicts peacefully, comprehensively, sustainably, and with dignity within the framework of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia.
The Faculty of Economics and Business, UGM, and Badan Reintegrasi Aceh will collaborate on a study titled “Sustaining Peace After Civil Conflict: Achievements, Implications, and Challenges.” The Faculty of Economics and Business, UGM, will support the preparation of a scientific study on the achievements, implications, and challenges of post-conflict peacebuilding in Aceh. In addition to supporting research activities, this collaboration includes community service as part of implementing the three pillars of higher education.
This collaboration is a strategic step toward strengthening collaboration between academia and local government to produce research that contributes to peacebuilding in Aceh. Furthermore, this collaboration is expected to enrich the academic literature and inform the formulation of policies that support sustainable peace and development in Aceh.
