FEB UGM Pilgrimage to the Graves of the Faculty Founders

The Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (FEB UGM) held a pilgrimage to the graves of the deans, professors, and lecturers of FEB UGM located in Sawitsari, Kotagede, Turi, and Umbulmartani. The gravesite visit was part of the 70th anniversary celebrations of FEB UGM (Lustrum XIV) and was attended by the academic community of FEB UGM on Friday, 12/09/2025.

The Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of FEB UGM, Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D., and the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni of FEB UGM, Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D, led the pilgrimage. Before the pilgrimage, the FEB UGM academic community joint prayer at the FEB UGM Campus.

Bayu said that the pilgrimage was a form of respect and remembrance for the contributions of FEB UGM’s predecessors, who had contributed to the development of the campus.

“Through this pilgrimage, we pray for our predecessors and thank them for their efforts in building FEB. Our task is to continue and grow FEB in the future,” he explained on Friday (12/09) at FEB UGM.

Pilgrimage and flower scattering at Sawitsari’s grave were carried out at the graves of former deans such as Prof. Dr. Soedijono Reksoprajitno, M.B.A., Prof. Dr. H. Bambang Riyanto, Prof. Dr. Sukadji Ranuwihardjo, Prof. Dr. Dibyo Prabowo, M.Sc., Prof. Dr. Sukanto Reksohadiprodjo, M.Com., Prof. Dr. H. Nopirin, M.A., as well as other professors and lecturers from the Faculty of Economics and Business. Next, a pilgrimage and flower scattering ceremony was held at the Kotagede cemetery at the graves of former deans, including Prof. Kertanegara, S.H., and Dr. Soetatwo Hadiwigeno, M.A. A pilgrimage was also conducted to pay respects to FEB UGM lecturers buried at the Umbulmartani and Turi cemeteries.

In addition to the pilgrimage, FEB UGM also visited the homes of retired lecturers and professional staff. The visits were carried out to maintain good relations with the retirees who had dedicated themselves and contributed significantly to the journey of FEB UGM.

The visits were carried out by visiting retired lecturers and professional staff members. The visits took place over several days, namely on 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, and 10 September 2025.
