IMF Outreach and Recruitment at FEB UGM

On Friday (26/9) International Monetary Fund (IMF) held a seminar with the theme “IMF Outreach and Recruitment”. Events held in the Auditorium Djarum Foundation, Pertamina Tower, FEB UGM was opened with

welcome remark by the Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Wihana Kirana Jaya, M.Soc.Sc, PhD. The first presentation on the development of the economy was delivered by Ben Bingham (IMF senior representative in Indonesia). Seeing the conditions that exist today, according to Benedict, we need to generate in manufacturing export. Economic need is driven to push the unemployment rate. High degree unemployment in agriculture segment.

The next event is a description of the opportunity for a career in the IMF. Dayalini P. Mandis (head of recruitment at the IMF) said that this recruitment is only for students of master’s and doctoral levels. Positions offered include economist program, experienced economists, support staff, and research asisstant. For more information regarding this recruitment can be seen in www.imf.org/jobs.

Economist and Lecturer at the Department of Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), Wisnu Setiadi Nugroho, S.E., M.Sc., M.A., Ph.D., highlighted the increasing difficulty young people, including graduates from top universities, face in finding jobs that match their competencies.
