The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), held a Retired Staff Gathering attended by 60 retired staff members at the FEB UGM Alumni Corner. The activity aimed to foster friendships and encourage positive and meaningful engagement among FEB UGM retirees.
Vice Dean for Assets, Finance, and Human Resources of FEB UGM, Suyanto, S.E., M.B.A., Ph.D., expressed his happiness and pride at seeing retired staff members remain active, productive, and engaged in meaningful activities during their retirement.
“FEB UGM feels happy and proud to see our retired staff continue to be active and productive, filling their retirement with positive activities. The faculty is pleased to facilitate various activities for retired staff, ranging from entrepreneurship training and reunions to other beneficial programs,” he stated on Wednesday (January 28, 2026) at the FEB UGM Alumni Corner.
On this occasion, FEB UGM also invited Mandiri Taspen to share knowledge and experience on financial literacy and entrepreneurship with retired staff members. Suyanto hoped that this collaboration would help retirees better manage their finances and plan productive activities after retirement.
“We would like to express our gratitude to Mandiri Taspen for their willingness to share insights. We hope that FEB UGM retirees remain healthy, happy, and able to enjoy their retirement period in a meaningful way,” he added.
The retired staff warmly welcomed the gathering. In addition to serving as a social gathering, the event also featured group exercise sessions and health check-ups. Tunjung Darmanti, a retired staff member from Wisma MM FEB UGM, expressed her appreciation for the activity. According to her, the former staff gathering serves as an essential space to maintain relationships among retirees while staying connected with the faculty.
“The event was very well organized. Besides being a place to reconnect with fellow retirees and the faculty, it was also refreshing for us. There were group exercises, health check-ups, and financial literacy sessions,” she explained.
Meanwhile, Heru Edy Yulianto, a retired member of staff from the Finance Division of the FEB UGM, expressed his hope that gatherings of retired staff could form a regular occurrence. It would allow retired staff to continue feeling connected to the faculty and stay informed about developments at FEB UGM.
“It was wonderful to gather again and enjoy the atmosphere of the faculty. Hopefully, this activity will become a regular occurrence,” Heru said.
