The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), is set to hold its annual Global Summer Week (GSW) from 13–24 July 2026. A total of 62 students from nine universities across five countries will participate in the programme, which is organised in collaboration with the University of Canterbury (UC), New Zealand, and Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Brunei Darussalam.
The 62 participants represent the University of Canterbury (New Zealand), Universiti Brunei Darussalam (Brunei Darussalam), the University of Glasgow (United Kingdom), WU Vienna (Austria), Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Universitas Mulawarman, Politeknik Negeri Malang, Universitas Negeri Surabaya, and Universitas Gadjah Mada.
Chair of GSW 2026, Annisa Hayatun Nazmi Burhan, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., explained that Global Summer Week is one of FEB UGM’s flagship academic programmes and has been held annually since 2014. This year’s programme carries the theme “Inclusivity and Innovation in Sustainable Entrepreneurship.”
“GSW 2026 embodies the spirit of how we, as the next generation of thinkers, builders, and changemakers, choose to respond to global challenges through the lens of business and entrepreneurship,” she said.
From 13 to 24 July 2026, participants will engage in discussions, collaborative learning, and the development of meaningful ideas while gaining new perspectives. Annisa expressed her hope that every participant would make the most of the programme as a valuable learning experience.
Meanwhile, Vice Chair of GSW 2026, Naya Hapsari, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., highlighted that the programme offers students the opportunity to broaden their perspectives and build networks with inspiring individuals from around the world. Through GSW 2026, FEB UGM aims to demonstrate that the most impactful entrepreneurial ideas emerge from the intersection of sustainability, inclusivity, and innovation.

“We hope participants will discover something that transforms the way they see the world—a new perspective, renewed confidence in what is possible, or a deeper understanding of the role that business can play in creating positive social impact,” she said.
GSW 2026 features a series of activities, including Expert-led Talks & Discussions, where participants will learn from academics and industry practitioners; Business Immersion & Summer Project, providing opportunities to apply their knowledge through social entrepreneurship projects; and a range of cultural activities. The two-week summer programme is equivalent to three academic credits (3 SKS / 5 ECTS) and will be conducted entirely in Yogyakarta.
Participants will also attend a variety of classroom sessions covering topics such as Inclusive & Sustainable Business Model, Empathy and Inclusive Design Thinking, Accessible Economy: Rethinking Value Creation, Social Entrepreneurship for Inclusion & Empowerment, Impact Financing and Network for Inclusive Innovation, Accessibility for All: Assistive Technology Innovation, Identifying Inclusive Business Opportunities, Collaborating with Communities for Inclusive Social Impact, and Managing Inclusivity & Diversity in the Workplace.
