International Week (iWeek) event which carries the theme “ASEAN Business Environment” that started on July 15^th 2019, was officially ended last Friday, July 26^th 2019. Dean of Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), Dr. Eko Suwardi, M.Sc., closed the event by distributing the certificate to 35 participants of iWeek that consisted of students from Malaysia, Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam, and Indonesia. Participants from Indonesia were hailed from many universities, namely Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Atmajaya Jakarta, Universitas UPN Veteran Jakarta, Universitas Airlangga, and Universitas Andalas. Dr. Eko expressed a message to all delegates, which he referred to as future leaders, to contribute collectively to their nations’ growth. “The future of ASEAN is in your hands, as the leaders of the future. You shall maintain the friendship you’ve sowed through this program to collectively build brilliant ASEAN.”

International Week activities were a collaboration between FEB UGM and ASEAN countries under AUN-BE (ASEAN University Network-Business Economics) where FEB UGM took the role as chairperson. The involvement of ASEAN participants from Universiti Sains Malaysia, UNITEN Malaysia, Mahidol University of International College, Royal University of Law and Economics Vietnam, made the discussions so vibrant during the two-week long program that consisted of lectures, CEO Talk, company visit, as well as cultural events. Duke, one fellow from Mahidol University of International College expressed that this event doesn’t only enrich his knowledge, but this also gave him so many insights related to ASEAN business environment.
