Prof. Didi Achjari also expressed his appreciation to all FEB UGM faculty members and the academic community for their support throughout his five-year tenure. According to him, the various programs implemented during his leadership were the result of collective efforts and support from many parties.
He also apologized for any shortcomings in the faculty’s services and in the implementation of programs during his tenure as dean.
“Thank you to the entire academic community, professional staff, and partners for your support and for the various programs we have implemented together. If there were any shortcomings during my five years of service, I sincerely apologize,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bayu reiterated his gratitude for the trust placed in him to lead FEB UGM for the 2026–2031 term. He also expressed his appreciation to Didi for his leadership and guidance during the previous period.
Chair of the FEB UGM Faculty Senate, Prof. Dr. Ainun Na’im, S.E., M.B.A., stated that Bayu Sutikno, Ph.D., is the 17th dean in the history of FEB UGM, which was established in 1955. According to him, a change of dean is not merely a change in leadership, but also part of FEB UGM’s continuing journey of development. He noted that future leadership needs to address strategic issues, including societal developments, learning methods, and community engagement.
“This marks a momentum for FEB UGM to embrace new developments in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, with all its dynamics,” he said.
Ainun Na’im also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Prof. Didi Achjari for his service in leading FEB UGM during the 2021–2026 term. He congratulated Bayu Sutikno, Ph.D., on accepting the responsibility of serving as Dean of FEB UGM for the 2026–2031 term and affirmed the Faculty Senate’s support, together with the entire academic community, in advancing FEB UGM.
“Congratulations and best wishes for your work and dedication as we strive toward new achievements for FEB UGM,” he said.
Earlier on Thursday morning (30/9), UGM Rector Prof. dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med., Ed., Sp.OG(K), Ph.D., inaugurated the deans of UGM faculties and the Vocational School for the 2026–2031 term at the UGM Senate Hall. Ova expressed her appreciation for the dedication of the deans who served during the 2021–2026 period, who guided the development of their respective faculties and the Vocational School amid the dynamics and uncertainties of change in the national and global ecosystem.
She noted that this experience provides important lessons about the significance of emotional maturity, humility, empathy, openness, and courage in decision-making and in managing leadership risks.
To the newly appointed deans, Ova emphasized that their leadership responsibilities should be carried out with integrity, accountability, and a spirit of service to advance the university. The 2026–2031 leadership period is expected to build on established foundations while introducing innovations to address emerging challenges, enabling UGM to become increasingly productive, agile, and innovative, and to continue contributing through education, research, and community engagement.
