The Master of Science and Doctoral (MD) Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), commemorated its 46th Anniversary by reaffirming its commitment to strengthening research-based education, scholarly publications, and contributions to advancing knowledge.
Head of the Master of Science and Doctoral Program in Accounting at FEB UGM, Prof. Mahfud Sholihin, S.E., M.Acc., Ph.D., Ak., CA., CPA (Aust), expressed his appreciation to the predecessors who laid the foundation for the program’s development, enabling it to grow into what it is today. He also acknowledged the support of various stakeholders, including university leaders and MD’s academic partners.
Mahfud emphasized that the MD FEB UGM program is open to anyone seeking to develop their knowledge and research capabilities, not only those pursuing academic careers. The program provides opportunities for participants to deepen their understanding of concepts and methodologies while developing sound decision-making skills, supported by various scholarship opportunities and international academic networks.
“We hope that MD FEB UGM will continue to thrive in the future,” he said during the thanksgiving ceremony commemorating the 46th Anniversary of the Master of Science and Doctoral Program at FEB UGM on Friday (2/10).
Meanwhile, Dean of FEB UGM, Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D., stated that MD has produced approximately 4,007 master’s alumni and 407 doctoral alums to date. The alumni are expected to continue to uphold their alma mater’s reputation through contributions across various fields.
Bayu also emphasized the importance of MD as a driving force and a key pillar in strengthening the research ecosystem. To date, the doctoral program has produced 107 publications, while the Master of Science program has contributed 42 publications published in international journals.
The 46th Anniversary serves as an opportunity for MD FEB UGM to continue promoting sustainable innovation through ethical and impactful research. By strengthening theoretical foundations, methodologies, and research capacity in accounting, economics, and management, MD is expected to nurture a new generation of visionary leaders and authoritative researchers.
