Faculty Fair 2023

Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) is again holding a Faculty Fair after taking a three-year break due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Activity Faculty Fair took place for two days, on Saturday (18/03) and Sunday (19/03) at Grha Sabha Pramana (GSP) UGM. This activity aims to introduce the faculties and vocational schools at UGM to students who wish to continue their studies at tertiary institutions and the broader community. This event involved all faculties, schools, and units at UGM.

The event opened with a short report delivered by Prof. dr. Gandes Retno Rahayu, M.Med.Ed., PhD., as Director of Education and Teaching. Prof Gandes expressed his hope that it will be held Faculty Fair if the community misses the meeting in person, asking directly about study programs at UGM. Hopefully, his activity will bring UGM closer to prospective undergraduate and applied undergraduate and masters, and doctoral students. Prof Gandhes also explains the goals Faculty Fair. These are children from high schools, alums from various universities who wish to continue their postgraduate studies, the general public, parents, and potential UGM partners. As of Saturday, March 18, 2,798 participants have registered to attend the two days.

Opening ceremony Faculty Fair 2023 was opened by the Chancellor of UGM, Prof. dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med., Ed., Sp.OG(K)., Ph.D. “This event was held to familiarise the public with Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). We appreciate this activity carried out by the Directorate of Education and Teaching. We welcome all visitors. Hopefully, this activity can be the first step for us in establishing friendship and opening up information,” said Prof Ova in her remarks.

Activity Faculty Fair consists of two floors. On the second floor are live exhibitions about faculties, schools, and directorate units at UGM. On the main stage, each faculty will showcase the excellence of its respective faculty through talk shows. In addition, on the 1st floor, there are food and beverage stands and other booths. Besides holding an exhibition booth in person, UGM also provides an online virtual expo for visitors who cannot attend in person. The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) presented the topic “Thriving in FEB’s X-periential Learning”, which was presented by Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., as Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni and Schalke Anindys as Outstanding Student 1 FEB UGM 2023.

At the end of the event, the booth competition at the faculty Fair was announced. The Faculty of Economics and Business won the first place award for the Most Educative Booth in the activity Faculty Fair UGM 2023.
