Overseeing the departure of students from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (FEB UGM) for Study Abroad, on Monday (26/6), the Global Relations and Mobility Office (GREAT) held a Pre-departure Training for Outgoing Students 2023 in the Audiovisual Room of FEB UGM. This event was attended by undergraduate study program students taking the Double Degree, Exchange, and IISMA (Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards) programs in 2023 and beyond.
The event began with remarks by Bayu Sutikno S.E., MSM, PhD, Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs FEB UGM. Then, Adrian B.Coen B.Ed, Expatriate Lecturer at FEB UGM, continued the Pre-departure event with an introduction to cross-cultural cultural insights abroad. He explained many topics such as politics, food and drink, and many more, as well as culture in society in specific countries.
After the cultural insight introduction session, the event continued with an Info Session from Academic by Wieda Herdiana S.S., M.Sc., head of the Academic and Student Affairs Section. Wieda explained the credit transfer system through the FEB UGM Synthesis, the implementation of KKN for students who study abroad, and details that need to be considered in taking courses at the host university. This session was also complemented by a question and answer session, which was enthusiastically attended by students, with questions about academics and their relation to the host university.
Then, the event continued with Notes for Studying Abroad, presented by Luluk Lusiantoro S.E., M.S.c. PhD as Head of GREAT FEB UGM. Luluk explained the types and things that need to be considered in each international exposure program. The event was continued with an Info Session by the three Heads of Undergraduate Study Programs, Sekar Utami Setiastuti, S.E., M.Sc., PhD, Heads of Study Programs Economics, I Wayan Nuka Lantara, S.E., M.Sc., PhD, Head of the Management Study Program, and Ridjad Djatu Winardi, S.E., M.Sc., PhD, CFE., Secretary of the Accounting Study Program. After the Info Session from the Study Program, the MC ended the Pre-departure event and hoped that students undergoing study abroad would be able to achieve success, retrieve optimum knowledge, and gain abundant experience while studying abroad.
