The Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) organized a capacity-building program for professional staff in the Faculty Administration Office (KAF) of FEB UGM. This capacity-building program aimed to improve the quality of human resources in KAF FEB UGM, especially in terms of teamwork and professionalism.
More than 100 professional staff participated in the two-day capacity-building program held at Plataran Heritage Borobudur Hotel, Magelang, from August 31 to September 1. Hundreds of professional staff participated in various games designed to enhance teamwork and professionalism during the capacity-building activities. In addition, the staff had the opportunity to enjoy a Volkswagen tour and visit multiple village economic centers (balkondes), such as honey bee farming, palm sugar production, and civet coffee production.
The event also included a farewell ceremony for several retired professional staff members. Those honored were Agus Ridwan, S.P., M.M. (Head of KAF), Wahyuningsih (KAF/Finance), and Muhammad Ansyor (KAF/General Affairs). The farewell ceremony for the retiring professional staff was held during the evening gathering at the Plataran Langit Khatulistiwa on Saturday night (8/31).
The Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, M.Com., Ak., C.A. said that the capacity building program was designed to strengthen the bonds and teamwork among the professional staff of FEB UGM. In the "Heart to Heart Session with the Dean," Didi solicited feedback from FEB UGM professional staff on campus improvements. The staff used this session to express their concerns, feedback, and suggestions to FEB UGM leadership for future institutional enhancements.
"We ask for input from all professional staff for the improvement and development of FEB UGM to become the leader," he said on Sunday (1/9) at the Plataran Heritage Borobudur Hotel, Magelang.
Didi explained that the achievement of the second reaccreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) underscores FEB UGM's commitment to continuous improvement in educational quality, research, and societal contribution.
"As an AACSB-accredited faculty, we must run fast and continuously improve, so improvement is mandatory. Let us build our beloved FEB UGM together!" Didi urged.
FEB UGM, he continued, is developing various initiatives and programs to achieve this, including promoting the capacity building of professional staff. Another step is creating an information system to support and enhance the performance of FEB UGM's professional staff.
"The faculty should not only be a place of work but also a place of comfort, happiness, and well-being for the professional staff. Let us make the faculty a second home where we can pursue our careers while fulfilling our spiritual duties," he concluded.
