  • Airport
Yogyakarta has two airports which are Adisutjipto International Airport (IATA code: JOG), and Yogyakarta International Airport (IATA code: YIA). Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) is a new airport in Yogyakarta, and starting in 2020, almost all domestic and international flights to and from Yogyakarta has been diverted to YIA. We highly recommend direct flight to Yogyakarta International Airport/YIA (transit in Singapore) for a better convenience. The distance between YIA to Yogyakarta City is approximately 45 km and takes about 90 minutes by car.
  • Airport Transfer
    1. Airport train is available to use and it takes around 40 minutes from the airport to the city and vice versa. The rate is IDR 20.000 (± USD 1,3/ € 1,2). The committee will help you in reserving the ticket based on your arrival/departure schedule time.
    2. Hyatt Regency Yogyakarta provides airport transfer service from/to YIA which can be reserved directly to the hotel. The rate is IDR 470.000 (± USD 32/ € 29) per way/car with maximum 4 person in it.
    3. Alternatively, official airport taxis are also available at the Yogyakarta International Airport with the price ranging from IDR 380.000 to IDR 470.000 (± USD 25 - 32/ € 23- 29).
    4. Participants are highly recommended to use the licensed taxi, app-based taxi, or car rental from the hotel for transportation for other non-conference purposes (e.g. sightseeing the Yogyakarta city, visit the tourist sites in Yogyakarta, shopping, etc.). Licensed taxi is available at the hotel. As for the app-based taxi, the participants need to download the “Gojek” or “Grab” application before they can use the services. The price is predetermined based on the distance of the destination, and both applications are available in English language. For the car rental, the hotel will help to arrange it for the participants.
    5. If the participants are willing to visit other cities outside Yogyakarta after the period of NIBES Meeting, many transportation are available and easily accessible. Trains, buses, and car rentals are most common transportation for visiting other cities in Java Island, such as Solo, Surabaya, Malang, Bandung, Jakarta, etc. Airplane is the option if the destination is outside Java Island, such as Bali or Lombok. Direct flights are also available from Yogyakarta International Airport (YIA) to Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, and Singapore.
