FEB UGM and LPS Encourage Impactful Research

Amid the growing complexity of the financial sector, research findings often serve as a roadmap for policymakers. To encourage the development of research that is not only academically rigorous but also capable of providing evidence-based recommendations for policymaking in the financial sector, the Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS) collaborated with the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), to hold a socialization session for the LPS Call for Research 2026 program on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Multimedia Room of FEB UGM.
The Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni Affairs of FEB UGM, Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., emphasized the importance of collaboration between LPS and the UGM academic community in promoting evidence-based policymaking in the financial sector.
“We hope that the research capabilities cultivated at FEB UGM can make a tangible contribution, not only to undergraduate theses, master’s theses, and dissertations, but also to producing valuable recommendations for policymakers,” he said.
Nata Buana, S.E., M.IntEcon&Fin, a member of the LPS Research Team, explained the strategic role of LPS as one of the four pillars of Indonesia’s Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK), alongside the Ministry of Finance, Bank Indonesia, and the Financial Services Authority (OJK).
