
The Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (FEB UGM) held a blood donation and free health check-up event called ‘DOREMI’ or Economic Blood Donation for all academics and professional staff on Thursday, 28 August 2025, at the FEB UGM Hall.
The Vice Dean of FEB UGM for Academic and Student Affairs, Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D., said that the blood donation and free health check-up activities were a form of FEB’s concern for the health of the campus community and the wider community. He also thanked the entire FEB UGM community for contributing to the blood donation activity.
“Thank you for your contribution. May all members of the FEB UGM community become healthier,” said Bayu on Thursday (28/8).
This blood donation and health check-up activity was attended by more than 100 participants, consisting of students, professional staff, and lecturers at FEB UGM. In addition to blood donation, free health checks were carried out, including blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid checks
Blood donation and health check-up activities were held to commemorate the 70th anniversary of FEB UGM, or Lustrum XIV FEB UGM. This event was held between the Social and Community Service Division and the Social Community Department of BEM FEB UGM, the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Yogyakarta, and the UGM Academic Hospital (RSA).
Muhammad Akhyar Abiyyu, a 2022 Management Study Programme student at FEB UGM who participated in the blood donation and health check-up activities, admitted that he was enthusiastic about these activities. Since becoming a student at FEB UGM, he has regularly participated in blood donations and health check-ups as part of the faculty’s anniversary celebrations.
“I’m happy because the university provides facilities for us who regularly donate blood. Additionally, with the free health check-up, I can monitor my health,” he said.
Meanwhile, Heni Purwaningsih, S.IP., a librarian at FEB UGM, revealed that this was her first time donating blood. She felt fortunate to participate in this activity and contribute to the blood supply in DIY.
Yuliana, S.E., a professional staff member of the MM Programme at the Yogyakarta Campus, also shared her hopes for this activity. She hopes that in the future, FEB UGM can regularly organise free health check-ups for the academic community and professional staff of FEB UGM.
