The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), successfully held a blood donation and free health check-up event, “DOREMI” (Donor Ekonomi), on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at the FEB UGM Courtyard. The event was open to all members of the academic community and professional staff and was held as part of the 71st Anniversary of FEB UGM.
Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of FEB UGM, Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D., said that the blood donation and free health check-up were a manifestation of FEB UGM’s commitment to promoting the health and well-being of its campus community.
“Thank you to everyone involved, especially the blood donors. May we all remain strong and be blessed with good health by the Almighty,” he said.
Chair of the 71st Anniversary Committee of FEB UGM, Naya Hapsari, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., said that the event was the first social activity held as part of the 71st Anniversary celebration. She expressed her hope that the event could become a regular annual program and benefit more people.
“I hope that this activity can be held regularly every year so that more people can experience its benefits,” she said.
This year’s blood donation and health check-up event featured several additions compared to previous years. In addition to blood donation and general health screenings, including blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, and uric acid tests, the event also introduced a new dental health check-up service.
More than 100 participants, including students, professional staff, and lecturers of FEB UGM, took part in the event. The program was a collaboration between the Social Affairs Department of BEM FEB UGM, UGM Academic Hospital (RSA UGM), and Prof. Soedomo UGM Dental and Oral Hospital (RSGM UGM Prof. Soedomo).
Bagas Sabda Dewantara, S.T., M.B.A., a lecturer at the Department of Management who participated in the health screening, said that he found the service very helpful. Through the health check-up, he gained a better understanding of his health condition. He emphasized the importance of regular health screenings to prevent delayed medical treatment.
“The health screening is very beneficial for the FEB UGM academic community because it makes us more aware of our health,” he added.
Rahmat Haidar, a staff member of the Academic Affairs Division at FEB UGM, experienced a similar benefit. For Rahmat, the availability of free health screening services on campus can encourage changes in daily habits and lifestyles by raising awareness through test results.
“For example, if we often eat fried foods, this medical check-up allows us to check our cholesterol levels. If the results show that our cholesterol is high, it can encourage us to start adopting a healthier lifestyle. Ultimately, this service helps us become more mindful of our health,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Alvis Anjabie, a blood donor and 2025 Economics student, also appreciated the event. He was grateful to be eligible and able to donate blood, seeing it as an opportunity to make a social contribution through the event’s facilities.
