Deloitte Tax Challenge 2022

A student team from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UGM has succeeded in achieving the second runner-up place in the national-scale tax competition, Deloitte Tax Challenge 2022. FEB UGM’s team was among the top three, along with other teams from the University of Indonesia and the University of Surabaya. The competition was held by one of the “Big Four” public accounting companies, namely Deloitte, and was held virtually on January 19, 2022 and February 2, 2022.

The Universitas Gadjah Mada team was named SAND, consisting of Sekar Pawestri Gita (Accounting 2019), Alyssa Rosdiana (Accounting 2019), Putu Apta Arkananta (Accounting 2019), dan Dionesa Anargya Raharjo (Accounting 2019). SAND succeeded in making FEB UGM proud after successfully going through three stages of the competition that challenged the reasoning power and creative thinking abilities of each team in solving real business cases surrounding taxes. The first stage required the team to submit a video with a predetermined topic. Then, the semifinal stage was in the form of case studies which can only be participated in by 16 teams. Finally, the 5 teams that qualified for the semi-finals then competed in the final stage.

In the semi-finals and finals, each team was given two cases with the topic of taxation in Indonesia on a global level. Then the case was presented before juries who were also managing partners of Deloitte Indonesia. In the final stage, the SAND team from UGM competed with four other teams from the University of Indonesia, the University of Surabaya, and Atma Jaya Catholic University of Indonesia. We congratulate the winning team. It is hoped that this achievement will continue to be improved every year and be able to inspire #SobatFEB to keep achieving great things in the future.

FEB UGM Holds National Seminar and Local Government Digital Transformation Performance Ranking

News Friday, 29 August 2025

Efforts to accelerate digital transformation at the district/city local government level face various challenges. Although the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) regulation has been in effect since 2018, its implementation has not been optimal due to gaps in ICT infrastructure, inconsistencies between central and regional policies, minimal use of big data, and uneven digital literacy among the public.

In response to these challenges, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (FEB UGM), through the Centre for Information Systems Studies (PKSI), is once again holding a National Seminar and Award Ceremony for the Gadjah Mada Digital Transformation Governance Index (GM-DTGI) for District/City Local Governments in 2025.
