Introducing the environment and curriculum to high school students, the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) held an open campus on Friday (16/9). The Open Campus FEB UGM event consists of presentations and faculty tours. The Open Campus was attended by students from selected high schools, accompanied by the teachers. The Open Campus event began with singing the anthem Indonesia Raya followed by the opening by the Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, S.E., M.Com., Akt.

Then the Open Campus was continued by two presentation sessions. The first session was titled “Socialization of the Departments and Graduate Outlook” and moderated by Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D, Vice Dean of Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni. The first session of presentation consisted of presentations from three departments at FEB UGM, namely Accounting, Management, and Economics. The introduction of the Management Department was explained by the Head of the Management Department, Nurul Indarti, Sivilekonom, Cand Merc, Ph.D. Indarti explained that the scope of the Management study program is very broad because all fields need management, from entrepreneurship, multinational businesses, even hospitals to educational institutions. Indarti explained that in Management, students will learn about business processes from various aspects: finance, operations, human resources, and marketing.

Then, the presentation of session 1 was continued by the Accounting Department who was introduced by the Secretary of the Accounting Department, Rusdi Akbar, M.Sc., Ph.D., Ak., CA. Rusdi Akbar explained that students of the Accounting study program learn about financial flows and funding in business processes. Rusdi added that accounting now faces challenges in the form of accounting enthusiasts, which have receded due to the issue of changing accountants by robots. Responding to this, Rusdi explained that accounting is also concerned with the accountability of a company that cannot be analyzed by robots. Then the session continued with the presentation of the Department of Economics by the Secretary of the Department of Economics, Eny Sulistyaningrum, S.E., M.A., Ph.D. Eny explained about the curriculum in Economics which mostly focuses on mathematics, such as macroeconomics, microeconomics, as well as learning about appropriate policies for the government to deal with economic issues. Eny then explained the job prospects of a Bachelor of Economics graduate, for example working at Bank Indonesia.

The Open Campus continued with Session 2 Presentation on student information and other matters which was also moderated by Gumilang. Session two was started by Luluk Lusiantoro, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D. as the head of the Global Relations and Mobility Office (GREAT) FEB UGM. Luluk explained that in GREAT there are three sub-fields, namely Public Relations and Social Media, Admission International Undergraduate Program (IUP), and University Partnership. Luluk explained that FEB cooperates with hundreds of double degree and exchange partner universities. This provides a wide opportunity for FEB students to carry out international mobility and allows FEB to accept international students from partner universities. The presentation of the second session was continued by Wieda Herdiana M.Sc, as the Head of the Academic and Student Section. Wieda explained that the admission to the UGM FEB program is now based on the decision of the Indonesian Ministry of Education and Culture regarding the transformation of the selection to enter PTN which now consists of: national selection based on achievement, national selection based on tests, and independent selection by PTN. Wieda also explained about the curriculum at FEB UGM and the availability of scholarships. The Open Campus was then followed by a Virtual Campus Tour session and the distribution of door prizes. The Open Campus event ended with a closing and a group photo as well as a group Campus Tour guided by representatives of FEB UGM students from various Student Associations of Departments and Student Organizations (HMJLK).

FEB UGM Holds National Seminar and Local Government Digital Transformation Performance Ranking

Efforts to accelerate digital transformation at the district/city local government level face various challenges. Although the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) regulation has been in effect since 2018, its implementation has not been optimal due to gaps in ICT infrastructure, inconsistencies between central and regional policies, minimal use of big data, and uneven digital literacy among the public.

In response to these challenges, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University (FEB UGM), through the Centre for Information Systems Studies (PKSI), is once again holding a National Seminar and Award Ceremony for the Gadjah Mada Digital Transformation Governance Index (GM-DTGI) for District/City Local Governments in 2025.
