The Management Department of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), is once again involved in a capacity-building consortium in Higher Education within the framework of Erasmus+, specifically the Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) initiative. After previously contributing to the ASEAN Green Entrepreneurship and Leadership (ANGEL) activities, the Management Department of FEB UGM now has the opportunity to join the Master in Sustainability Development and Management (MASUDEM) consortium. This consortium aims to enhance the capacity of the Master of Management Program, particularly in addressing sustainability and green economy issues. The three-year project kick-off will take place from 15 to 17 February 2023 at the University of Economics in Bratislava, Slovakia, and Mendel University, Brno, Czech Republic. The Management Department delegation was led by Prof. Nurul Indarti, Sivilokonom., Cand.Merc., Ph.D., and followed by Boyke Rudy Purnomo, S.E., M.M., PhD., CFP., and Rocky Adiguna, SE., M.Sc., Ph.D.
The MASUDEM project aims to develop graduate program curricula and enhance the capacity of teaching staff in addressing sustainable development issues. Furthermore, this activity also promotes an internationalization strategy through sustainable cooperation among consortium members. There are six universities in ASEAN involved in the consortium, three from Indonesia: Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesian Islamic University, and Trisakti University, as well as three universities from Thailand: International College of NIDA, Srinakharinwirot University, and Naresuan University. Meanwhile, the European partners involved included the University of Economics in Bratislava, Slovakia, Mendel University Brno, Czech Republic, Pablo de Olavide University, Seville, Spain, and Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary.
This activity is highly relevant to FEB UGM’s mission of cultivating future leaders in economics and business who are committed to addressing sustainable development issues. This initiative is also in line with the global spirit of mainstreaming sustainable development declared by the United Nations (UN). In this consortium, UGM will serve as the coordinator for conducting mapping studies on the current status of curriculum implementation, focusing on sustainable development and the various needs of resources and capacities required by each consortium member to develop postgraduate teaching on the theme of sustainable development and management.
