The Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) received more good news. On Saturday (06/07), the Pairgrowth Team, consisting of Ali Alexander (Management 2021) and Elsa Firlyani (Property Management and Valuation SV 2021), won third place in the 2023 Extraordinary Capital Market Competition Vol. 6 (EXPLOTION #6) national level competition held by the Market Study Group Capital of Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (KSPM UMY). The competition mechanism consists of two stages: the Equity Research Competition and the Beauty Contest.
In the first stage, the Equity Research Competition, participants were asked to write a stock analysis paper by selecting one of several issuers selected by the committee. In this stage, the Pairgrowth team wrote a paper entitled “A Year of Growth and Resilience!” by analyzing the shares of PT AKR Corporindo Tbk. Ali, as the team leader, explained that the paper aims to recommend buying AKRA shares at a specific valuation level. “Simply put, the AKRA industry is interesting for us to study and invest in,” said Ali regarding why his team raised this topic in the paper.
The Pairgrowth team successfully passed the first stage and became one of eight finalists advancing to the Beauty Contest. The Beauty Contest stage is the second and last series of this competition. In the Beauty Contest stage, the finalists presented their issuer’s stock analysis and conducted a question-and-answer session with the judges. The Pairgrowth team finally won third place in this competition. Congratulations to the Pairgrowth Team for their achievement!
