Students from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Gadjah Mada University, won first place in the BCA Business Case Competition (BBCC) 2025, which took place on 27–30 August 2025 at Menara BCA, Jakarta.
Rr. Hadijah Putri Jasmine from the 2023 Management Study Programme, together with her two teammates from The Managers team, Faluna Aga Janitra (SBM ITB) and Felicia Christalyn (Prasetiya Mulya University), won the competition after beating dozens of other teams from various universities in Indonesia. This prestigious competition, organised by Bank Central Asia, was attended by more than 700 participants from well-known public and private universities in Indonesia, including the University of Indonesia, Bandung Institute of Technology, Prasetiya Mulya University, and Binus University.
Hadijah explained that in the competition, she worked on a case focused on how BCA could continue to grow and adapt in the digital era. BCA is one of Indonesia’s most trusted banks and has a large customer base. However, challenges arose with the development of financial technology (fintech), changes in consumer behaviour, and the increasing expectations of the younger generation, who are more digitally literate, easily bored, and very sensitive to user experience. From this, participants were asked to design innovative and sustainable strategies that address daily transaction needs and create new added value. The focus included how BCA could develop more relevant products and services, maintain user loyalty, and strike a balance between digital innovation and trust as a conventional bank.
After going through the initial stage of collecting ideas in videos, the 30 finalists were given the daunting challenge of turning their solutions into comprehensive presentations in just two days and one night. The presentations were then assessed directly by a panel of banking industry practitioners. Although she initially felt intimidated by the quality of her competitors from the best universities in Indonesia, Hadijah was able to give her best performance and ultimately led The Managers team to first place.
Hadijah said she was very grateful for her achievement. Previously, she never thought she would win, and initially hesitated to register for the competition.
“I am very grateful to have reached this point,” she said.
