Nathanael Alexander Rae Alvis achieved an equally impressive feat by earning the Men’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in the men’s category, marking his third consecutive year receiving the honor.
The men’s basketball team, led by Nathanael Alexander Rae Alvis (Management 2023), defeated the UGM Faculty of Engineering team in the final with a score of 73-55. Meanwhile, the women’s basketball team, captained by Najla Widona Bima (Accounting 2023), had to concede defeat to the Graduate School basketball team with a narrow score of 46-50.
Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of FEB UGM, Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D., expressed his appreciation for the achievements of the FEB UGM men’s and women’s basketball teams. We are very proud and salute the efforts of the FEB UGM men’s and women’s basketball teams in Porsenigama 2025,” he said on Friday (14/11/2025) at FEB UGM.
Bayu said that these achievements were the result of the players’ hard work, as well as the support from coaches, mentors, and parents. The support from Econolympus supporters added to the enthusiasm of the FEB UGM basketball teams in every match.
“Thanks to the support of all parties, the men’s team won gold, and the women’s team won silver. Of course, this achievement is not the end, but it will serve as motivation to make winning a tradition in the future,” he hoped.
FEB UGM Basketball Team Coach, Hari Wibowo, highlighted that 2025 marks the third consecutive year the FEB UGM men’s and women’s basketball teams have advanced to the Porsenigama basketball finals. In 2023, the women’s team claimed first place while the men’s team finished second. In 2024, both teams won first place. He also noted that Natanael Alexander (Management 2023) consistently earned the Men’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) title each year.
Hari revealed that the achievements of the FEB UG basketball team were inseparable from the support of FEB UGM in facilitating interest and talent in basketball. This was demonstrated through the provision of a basketball court at the Leadership Hall, MM FEB UGM, and the revival of the basketball community every Thursday afternoon. In addition, the annual FEB UGM Anniversary celebration also featured a basketball competition, making the atmosphere of basketball very strong at FEB. Player and coach selection is conducted rigorously with a high target of reaching the finals or winning the Porsenigama championship.
“What has been notably significant over the past three years is the growing mental strength of the players. The hope is that this condition will positively impact the players as students, where strong mental resilience will assist them in their studies and future careers,” he explained.
