The team consisted of Christopher Alvin Sudarmo (Management IUP 2016), Nathalia Faustina Halim (Management IUP 2016) and Phelia Myrna (Economics IUP 2016). The conference was held at Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea on Saturday, August 11, 2018.

In this competition, the UGM team had undergone several stages of selection which was the proposal and case study writing stage. The team was advised by Mr. I Wayan Nuka Lantara, Ph.D. and several other FEB UGM lecturers. Afterward, the team was invited to Seoul, South Korea to present their paper in “AAB’s 4rd Annual International Conference.” The conference consisted of a series of events such as a panel discussion session, keynote speeches, a poster competition, and the presentations of the top 10 teams who had been invited to South Korea.

The main theme of the competition was “How Asian Brands Soar?” Each team was challenged to provide an analysis of successful brands from Asia. Participants who made it to the top 10 came from some of the best universities in the world such as University of Pennsylvania (Wharton), Imperial College London, University College London, Hong Kong University (HKU), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Indian Institute of Management (IIM), and Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST). The UGM team presented their case study on Indomie. The case study will later be published in the book “How Asian Brands Soar,” along with other papers that made it to the top 10.
