Paper Researching Contest (PRC) is one of the events of Telkom Accounting Fair held by Accounting Student Association, Telkom University. This year, the main theme was "Implementation of PMK 216/PMK.01/2017 about Chartered Accountant." This theme was chosen to prepare accountants from Indonesia with knowledge and skills so they are able to face competition with accountants from other countries, especially those from South East Asia.
The selection process of this competition is divided into four stages, which are abstract submission, paper submission, semifinal round, and final round. This competition starts with each team submitting their abstracts and then nine best abstracts were selected to continue to the full paper submission stage. After submitting the paper, five teams were selected to continue to the semifinal round in Bandung on 27th October 2018. The final round was also held on the same day with only three teams selected to this round.
Team Pacioli which consists of Lydia Lionita Sihaloho (Accounting 2015), Nadila Nurfairuz Amalina (Accounting 2015), and Ajeng Dianingtyas Putri (Accounting 2015) were able to continue to the semifinal round and presented their paper in front of judges. The paper presented by Team Pacioli was titled "Accountant as System Creator: Deeper View in Accountants’ Role That Are Broader than Human Calculator and System Doer."
With the best score during the semifinal round, Team Pacioli could continue their journey to the final round with other two teams from Universitas Gadjah Mada and Telkom University. In the final round, each team was given a case study which had to be solved in 20 minutes and then presented in front of the judges within 7-minute of time. After presenting the solution of the case study, each team would be asked further questions by the judges. Again, with the best score in the final round, Team Pacioli succeeded in winning the first place in this competition.
