FEB UGM Students Won 2nd Winner in National Business Solution Competition 2018 at Universitas Padjajaran

Three undergraduate students from Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) won 2nd place winner in the National Business Solution Competition (NBSC) 2018 held by Universitas Padjajaran collaborated with PT Danone Indonesia on November, 23-26, 2018. The students, joined together as a team called Breakfast Club, consisted of Afrizal Hakim Ahmad Faiz (Management 2015), Dharmawan Santosa (Economics 2016), dan Patria Annisa Dhawastu (Accounting-IUP 2015).
National Business Solution Competition (NBSC) is an annual business case competition held by Business Administration Student Universitas Padjajaran. In this year, NBSC 2018 held a theme "Digitalizing Business Efficiency Process in FMCG Industry." By collaborating with PT Danone Indonesia as its main partner, the participants need to give a solution towards business efficiency problem faced by PT Sarihusada Generasi Mahardika (SGM) as Danone Indonesia’s subsidiary.
National Business Solution Competition 2018 consisted of several stages. Before competing in Bandung, each team had to submit a paper analysis and powerpoint slides regarding the case from PT Danone Indonesia. After that, 10 finalist teams were selected and invited to join the final round in Bandung. Prior to the final, each team was required to submit another paper analysis, powerpoint slides, and video regarding their projects. In the final stage, the finalist teams were given new knowledge by 3 notable speakers from PT Danone Indonesia and other companies with the topics revolving on FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods), big data, and public speaking. Then the finalist teams were given the chance to deepen their analysis and made a revision on their paper and slides if they needed to. After that, the presentation was done and opened for public at the Oregano Ballroom of Clove Garden Hotel & Residence, Bandung.
The final stage consists of the final presentation case prepared by the top 10 teams. In the final round, Breakfast Club team from FEB UGM presented their business solution for PT Sarihusada Generasi Mahardika with the title "SGM Traditional Retailer App: Improving Efficiency through Cost Minimisation and Delivery Optimisation" in front of three judges including Archimaso Satryo Santoso representing PT Danone Indonesia, Laila Larissa Alam who’s currently a product manager from PT Advotics Technology Global, and Nurul Arif Setiawan who’s currently a software engineer from Makers Institute. After the judges’ deliberation and assessment, Breakfast Club FEB UGM was awarded as the 2nd Winner in this prestigious business competition, winning both money prize and internship spots at PT Danone Indonesia.
