UGM Students Won 3rd Debate Competition at the Economic Fair 2019 at Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana

The Equilibrium team, consisting of three UGM Undergraduate Program students, Sisilia Juliana Hanamaria (Economics-IUP 2016) and Fernandi Army (Economics 2015), and Natasha Christanti (English-SV 2016) won 3rd place in the debate competition and awarded as Best Speaker in the Economics Fair 2019 on March 18-19 2019 held at Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW).
The Economic Fair is an annual event organized by the Student Senate of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (FEB UKSW). This year, the Economic Fair 2019 carries the big theme "Student College in Critical of Economic ASEAN Community (SCREAM)". In this competition, the Equilibrium Team succeeded through various stages of the competition until they finally won 3rd place. In addition, Sisilia and Fernandi won the Co-2nd Best Speaker, because both had the same final score. Meanwhile, First Best Speaker was won by Natasha.
In this competition carried out in two stages. First, participants must submit a paper that picks up one of the three sub-themes provided. Then, 8 teams who passed were invited to FEB UKSW to continue the selection phase, namely the debate competition. At the competition this time, 8 teams that managed to qualify came from various different universities such as Universitas Indonesia, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Airlangga, Universitas Negeri Semarang, Universitas Hasanuddin, Universitas Sumatera Utara, dan Universitas Riau.
Finally the result came in final stage and 1st place won by Universitas Sumatera Utara, 2nd place taken by Universitas Airlangga and 3rd placed by Universitas Gadjah Mada.
