UGM Student Teams Won Two Championship Trophies in Islamic Economic Olympiad Competition 2019 at Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta

Two delegation teams from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada succeeded won championship trophies in the Islamic Economic Olympiad Competition held by Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta on March 26, 2019. The first team consisting of Ivan Maulana (Economics 2018), Muhammad Dafa Dhiya (Economics of 2018), and Muhammad Reski Waluya (Economics 2018) won first place in the competition. While the second team consisting of Alvia Sari (Accounting 2017), Kamilatul Fadhilah (Economics 2018) and Nurul Husna Mardhiyah (Accounting 2018) won the third place.
The Islamic Economic Olympiad competition is an Olympic competition that is carried out in stages with the scope of material concerning Islamic economics. This competition was organized by the Himpunan Mahasiswa Ekonomi dan Perbankan Islam Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta (HIMEPI UMY), which is one of a series of Shariah Economics Week (SEW) VII events followed by Islamic economic debate competitions and paper presentations.
Bring the theme "The Urgency of the Islamic Finance Industry in the Face of the Asia-Pacific Rebalance 2025", SEW is a national competition event followed by state universities in Indonesia such as Universitas Gadjah Mada, Universitas Diponegoro, Universitas Brawijaya, Malik Ibrahim Islamic University (UIN Malang), Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, and other universities.
Under the guidance of the Shariah Economics Forum (SEF) UGM, both of two teams were able to prove that UGM students succeeded in outperforming other university students even though they were not in the core studies in islamic economics. We will do the best, then God will do the rest is our principle so that it can lead us to champions after working hard. Hopefully, UGM students, especially FEB UGM students, can continue to improve their achievements in any field.
