FEB UGM Team Achieved 2nd Winner in GSENT 2017

Undergraduate students team of Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada achieved 2nd winner in National Islamic Economic Olympiad - Gunadarma Sharia Economic Event (GSENT) 2017. FEB UGM team consisted of Airlangga Surya Kusuma (Management 2012), Abdul Qodri Susamto (Management 2014), and Erlin Meida Ramadhani (Accounting 2014). This annual event was held by Universitas Gunadarma along with its Kelompok Studi Ekonomi Islam SEF Gunadarma on 5-8 April 2017 under the theme "Paving the Way of Islamic Economics and Finance: Inclusive Innovations".
The competition started with online selection by doing conventional economics questions and Islamic economic as well as sending essay under the big theme of GSENT 2017. FEB UGM team along with other 12 teams from all over Indonesia; Universita Airlangga, Universitas Negeri Surabaya, Universitas Brawijaya, and UIN Sunan Kalijaga succeeded entering semifinal phase. In the phase, each teams had to answer Olympiad tasks individually. The result will be compiled and treated as team result. The team also had to go through debate session and case study. FEB UGM team went to the final phase with other 3 teams.
In the final phase, each team was given a sub theme randomly as the conference material on Saturday, 8 April 2017. The conference phase was attended by 3 judges from OJK, BI and an academician from Universitas Gunadarma and there were about 300 people attending the conference which was taken place in Auditorium D460 Campus D Universitas Gunadarma. As the final result, FEB UGM team took place as the 2nd winner. The team were grateful for the victory and hoped the achievement could inspire other students.
