The subtheme was chosen by UGM team.

The competition started with a collection of papers from 90 teams from various universities in Indonesia. The best 20 papers were presented before the jury at Andalas University. Among those 20 papers, five best works were chosen by the jury to state their final statement. Among them were teams from the Institute Pertanian Bogor, two teams from the Institute Teknologi Bandung, Universitas Brawijaya and Universitas Gadjah Mada. Of the five best teams, team from FEB UGM won the second place.

The paper presented by the team from UGM raised the theme of village funding by focusing on the effectiveness of the use of the village funds by taking primary data in Sidoarum Village, Godean Sub-district, Sleman District, D.I. Yogyakarta. The paper emphasized the importance of providing statistical data on village conditions, from poverty, productivity, and others in each village as a baseline, in order to concreting the target of village self-reliance in quantitative terms. The paper was entitled “The Effectiveness of the Use of Village Funds to Economic Independence of Sidoarum Village, Godean Sub-district, Sleman District, D.I. Yogyakarta”.
