The FEB UGM Student Team succeeded in making achievements at the national level. Three students of the Faculty of Economics and Business UGM consisting of Apia Dewi Agustin (Accounting 2018), Wulandari (Accounting 2018), and Yadi Suryadi (Accounting 2018) who are members of the Environma Team managed to become First Place in the 2021 Financial Inclusion Competition (KOINKU) which organized by the Financial Services Authority of the Republic of Indonesia.
KOINKU is a regular competition held by OJK RI since 2014 in order to improve financial inclusion programs in Indonesia. Through KOINKU, competition participants are given the opportunity to contribute creative and innovative ideas regarding financial inclusion models that can be replicated and benefit the financial services sector and the general public.
Held by online, KOINKU 2021 has the theme of "Innovation of Financial Inclusion Models in Supporting the National Economic Recovery Program". This theme was chosen in order to improve financial access and encourage the National Economic Recovery Program (PEN). KOINKU 2021 is divided into two categories, namely Student and General category. In the student category, the Environma Team had to compete with various undergraduate and postgraduate students from various universities in Indonesia.
Through a fairly long competition, the Environma Team followed a number of selection stages before winning the title. Starting from submission to proposal selection, the Environma team was successfully selected as the best five finalists. As the top five finalists, the Enviroma Team then received a coaching clinic from experts. Entering the final stage, participants presented their work and continued with a question and answer session.
The presentation was conducted openly and judged by a team of judges, namely experts in their fields. The judges in the final stage included Mr. Edwin Nurhadi (Director of Financial Inclusion Development of OJK), Mr. Wientor Rah Mada (Director of Business and Marketing of the Cooperative and SME Marketing Service Institute (LLP-KUKM) – SMESCO), Mrs. Asraf Faraznaz (Group Head Micro Development and Agent Banking - PT Bank Mandiri), Mr. Djauhari Sitorus (National Financial Inclusion Policy and Coordination Expert - Asian Development Bank (ADB)), and Mrs. Dewi Meisari Haryanti (Lecturer of the Faculty of Business Economics, University of Indonesia).
On this golden opportunity, the Environma Team tried to offer an idea by presenting L-Askar (Waste for Independent MSME Insurance) as an aggregation, synergy, and collaboration from various parties in supporting financial inclusion and National Economic Recovery (PEN) programs targeting MSME actors through use of environmentally friendly and sustainable technological innovations. Oriented in the economic, financial, social, and environmental landscape, L-Askar is designed to be a bridge that integrates the interests and needs of MSME actors, waste collectors, and insurance service providers in Indonesia.
We congratulate the Environma Team!
