Proud news comes again from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) students. The Eagle Eye team, consisting of Ali Alexander (Management 2021) and Elsa Firlyani (Property Management and Valuation SV 2021), successfully clinched first place in the UNY Stock Market Competition (USMC) 2023. To achieve this remarkable accomplishment, the Eagle Eye team had to go through several stages and compete with 90 other teams.
In the first round, Ali and Elsa conducted an in-depth analysis of the stocks of PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SMGR). Their comprehensive presentation propelled them to the next round, the presentation stage, which was participated in by the top ten teams. The presentation stage took place at the Indonesia Stock Exchange Yogyakarta on Wednesday (27/10). During the presentation, both team members showcased excellent analytical and persuasive skills, ultimately leading them to secure the first-place position in this competition.
Ali, as the representative of the Eagle Eye team, briefly shared his experience during the competition. “It was quite exciting to analyze the company’s (PT Semen Indonesia) stocks. Besides its discounted price, through a holistic analysis from macro to micro aspects, we found that there is currently a lot of infrastructure development, including the National Strategic Projects (IKN). This will undoubtedly impact the profitability of SMGR’s shares. Therefore, we recommend this stock,” he narrated.
