The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) officially signed a memorandum of understanding with PT Mirae Asset Sekuritas Indonesia on Friday (25/08). The signing ceremony took place in the Kertanegara Room at FEB UGM. On this occasion, FEB UGM was represented by Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, S.E., M.Com., Ak., CA., as the Dean; Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., as the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni; and Prof. Amin Wibowo, S.E., M.B.A., Ph.D., as the Head of the Master’s Program in Management. Meanwhile, the delegation from PT Mirae Asset Sekuritas Indonesia included Tomi Taufan (Head of Retail Business Department), Lindawaty (Senior Area Manager), Nur Widyatmoko (Junior Area Manager), I Gusti Ngurah Komang Suadnyana (Senior Investment Specialist), Arif Setyawan (Senior Investment Specialist), and Ida Bagus Hari Suta Manuaba (Investment Specialist).
This collaboration aims to establish a financial laboratory that can be used by the academic community, including faculty, students, and academic staff. Moreover, the Master’s Program in Management had a concentration on finance and portfolio investment. Prof. Amin stated, “The development of the laboratory aims to nurture experts in the field of finance. With this facility, students can engage in more practical experiences.”
On the other hand, Tomi, as a representative of PT Mirae Asset Sekuritas Indonesia, pointed out that only four percent of the Indonesian population currently understands the capital market. Therefore, he hopes that the partnership will provide education on the capital market for the public, especially UGM students. The event proceeded with signing the memorandum of understanding between both parties. Subsequently, souvenirs were presented to PT Mirae Asset Sekuritas Indonesia representatives. The day’s agenda ended with a group photo session and a campus tour to explore the facilities at FEB UGM.
