Webinar ACCA-AUN BE: Essential Skills for Future Finance Professionals in the Age of AI

Webinar AUNBE-ACCA 2025

Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in collaboration with ASEAN University Network on Business and Economics (AUN-BE) held a webinar on “Essential Skills for Future Finance Professionals in the Age of AI” on Friday, 22 August 2025 and was attended by 219 participants from various countries. This marks the first webinar collaboration between ACCA and AUN-BE since establishing a cooperation in 2022.

Mr. Aucky Pratama, the ACCA Regional Lead of Public Affairs, Asia Pacific and Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, the Chairperson of AUN-BE, excitedly welcomed the participants to the webinar. During his welcoming remarks, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari mentioned the importance of this webinar on “Essential Skills for Future Finance Professionals in the Age of AI” which comes at a crucial time when the accounting and finance profession is undergoing profound transformation, shaped by artificial intelligence and rapid technological advancements. And by joining this webinar, the participants will not only receive insights into AI literacy but also be able to explore the essential skills that future professionals must cultivate to thrive in an ever-evolving digital world.

The first session of the webinar was delivered by Mr. George Thomson, ACCA Public Affairs Manager, Asia Pacific, who dug deep into the importance of AI literacy, why we need better digital skills, and understand more about signs of tech anxiety. Furthermore, Ms. Esther Thng, the ACCA Regional Head of Learning & Education, also shared about how we can balance technical and business skills, and how digital skills and collaboration can be a foundation for AI success as well as implementing the best practice. The last session was delivered by Ms. Huong Khuat, the ACCA Education Relationships Lead for Mainland Southeast Asia, who took the participants to get to know more about ACCA.

The webinar was wrapped up with questions and answer sessions, which allowed participants to dive deeper into the best practices and how to wisely harness the use of AI. Arizona Mustikarini, Ph.D., the executive secretariat of AUN-BE closed the webinar by wrapping up all the sessions and pointed out the importance of understanding AI literacy and how this webinar can help the participants reap many benefits that would help them make a solid foundation as future finance professionals in the age of AI.
