As part of its efforts to introduce international mobility opportunities for students of the International Undergraduate Program (IUP), the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), through the Global Relations and Mobility Office (GREAT), held the IUP Parents Meeting on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Alumni Corner Room, FEB UGM. The event served as a platform for networking and dialogue between the faculty and parents of students from the 2023, 2024, and 2025 cohorts to discuss international mobility opportunities for students.
Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni, Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., emphasized the crucial role of parents in supporting students’ personal and academic development. He noted that FEB UGM offers a wide range of opportunities for its students. Therefore, the faculty hopes that parents will help them identify and capitalize on these opportunities.
Gumilang also introduced several supporting units at FEB UGM, such as the Career and Student Development Unit (CSDU), which focuses on enhancing students’ soft and hard skills, and GREAT, which serves as the driving force behind the faculty’s internationalization initiatives.
“Through GREAT, we build international networks and facilitate students’ participation in various global programs such as double degree, student exchange, and short academic programs,” he added.
Head of GREAT, Arizona Mustikarini, Ph.D., explained that the event aims to strengthen students’ international orientation through various programs, including double degree, student exchange, and short academic programs. She highlighted that from 2020 to 2025, FEB UGM has sent 209 double-degree students, 100 student exchange participants, and 344 participants in short academic programs. Additionally, FEB UGM has hosted 14 double-degree programs, 322 exchange students, and 98 students participating in short educational programs.
Arizona also emphasized the importance of student readiness before joining international programs not only in academic terms, but also in terms of ethics and personal maturity.
“Please be mindful of your surroundings, avoid risky behavior, be proactive in class, and uphold academic integrity,” she advised.
The event also featured presentations on Academic Administration Procedures and Mobility Programs, covering topics such as curriculum, re-registration, credit transfer, community service programs (KKN), PDDikti reporting, thesis writing, and the processes of graduation and convocation. The session also outlined the requirements for students who wish to participate in international academic programs.
Representatives from several partner universities, including the University of Melbourne, University of Groningen, Campus France, and Saxion University of Applied Sciences, also presented information about their mobility and postgraduate study opportunities. At the end of the session, parents had a chance to engage in direct discussions and consultations regarding academic programs at FEB UGM and its partner universities.
