In an effort to strengthen the dissemination of Bank Indonesia’s policies, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), established a strategic collaboration with Bank Indonesia through a public lecture titled “Bank Indonesia’s Policy Mix” on Monday (1/12) at the 8th-floor Auditorium of the Learning Center Building, FEB UGM. This event served as an essential forum for discussing macroeconomic dynamics and monetary policy amid global uncertainty.
The public lecture featured three senior officials from various departments within Bank Indonesia, namely Dhaha Praviandi Kuantan, Director of the Macroprudential Policy Department; Ferry Kurniawan, Deputy Director of the Economic and Monetary Policy Department; and Irfan Hendrayadi, Deputy Director of the Payment System Policy Department.
The three speakers provided comprehensive perspectives on Indonesia’s economic outlook and Bank Indonesia’s policy mix response to support growth and maintain stability. They also discussed the monetary policy framework, Bank Indonesia’s policy mix, developments in the national payment system, and the latest payment system policies.
Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni at FEB UGM, expressed in his remarks that this lecture would become an opportunity to learn directly from Bank Indonesia.
“This will be highly valuable because you will learn many variables related to policymaking at Bank Indonesia amid a complex economic situation and gain tremendous insights from today’s presentation,” he stated.
Through this lecture, students gained the opportunity to learn about Bank Indonesia’s policy transformation, developments in Financial System Stability, global and domestic economic conditions, as well as Bank Indonesia’s strategies for maintaining monetary stability during global uncertainty. This collaboration is expected to serve as the starting point for broader cooperation between FEB UGM and Bank Indonesia in supporting the enhancement of learning quality, research, and capacity building in economics and public policy.
