The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), is organizing a series of sports competitions as part of the celebration of its 71st Anniversary. Held annually, the Sports Week serves as a platform to strengthen camaraderie and foster sportsmanship among the faculty’s academic community, bringing together lecturers, students, professional staff, and retired staff through a variety of sporting events.
The competitions will take place from July 27 to September 10, 2026, featuring volleyball, badminton, table tennis, a fun run, football, basketball, lawn tennis, padel, and e-sports. The men’s volleyball tournament was held on July 27–28, followed by the women’s competition on August 7–14. Badminton competitions are scheduled for August 3–5, the UGM Cat Route Fun Run on August 21, football on August 22, and table tennis on September 1–2. Basketball will be held on September 3; lawn tennis on September 5; padel on September 9; and e-sports on September 9–10, 2026.
The annual Sports Week is part of FEB UGM’s ongoing commitment to fostering a healthy and inclusive campus environment. In addition to the Sports Week, the faculty promotes the FEB Sehat (Healthy FEB) initiative, encouraging academic community members and professional staff to engage in regular physical activities each week. FEB UGM also provides a wide range of sports facilities for its community, including volleyball courts, billiards, table tennis, lawn tennis courts, a gym, yoga classes, group exercise sessions, and other recreational facilities.
The Sports Week is one of the flagship events in the series of activities celebrating FEB UGM’s 71st Anniversary, which carries the theme “Fostering Inclusive and Innovative Leaders for Sustainable Economics and Business.” Beyond the sports competitions, the anniversary celebration also features a variety of academic programs, including international conferences, national seminars, the Global Summer Week, and the Academic Senate Meeting. Non-academic activities include alum gatherings, community service programs, social visits, cemetery pilgrimages, blood donation drives, music concerts, and the Family Fun Evening.
