The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), held a Special Senate Meeting on Monday (August 10) to determine the Dean candidates for the 2026–2031 term at the Auditorium of the Learning Center Building, FEB UGM. The meeting was attended by three Dean candidates, listed alphabetically by first name: Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D.; Muhammad Ryan Sanjaya, S.E., M.Int.Dev.Ec., Ph.D.; and Rimawan Pradiptyo, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D. Each candidate presented their ideas and proposed directions for the future development of FEB UGM before members of the FEB UGM Senate.
The Special Senate Meeting was part of the selection process for candidates for Dean of FEB UGM for the 2026–2031 term. The process is conducted in accordance with Universitas Gadjah Mada Rector’s Regulation No. 7 of 2016 concerning the Procedures for the Selection of Deans and the Appointment of Vice Deans.
The meeting began with presentations of each candidate’s vision and ideas, followed by a question-and-answer session with members of the FEB UGM Senate. The candidates were presented in the order determined through a draw. Muhammad Ryan Sanjaya, S.E., M.Int.Dev.Ec., Ph.D., who was selected to present first, outlined his proposed direction for the development of FEB UGM by highlighting four strategic issues concerning the value of education. Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D., presented his strategy for navigating FEB UGM through 2026–2031 under the framework “First and Excellent Bersama (FEB).” Meanwhile, Rimawan Pradiptyo, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., delivered a presentation entitled “Quality Culture and Talent: Sustaining Impact Amid VUCA & BANI.”
Based on the voting results of the FEB UGM Special Senate Meeting, Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D., ranked first, followed by Rimawan Pradiptyo, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., in second place, and Muhammad Ryan Sanjaya, S.E., M.Int.Dev.Ec., Ph.D., in third place.
The voting results will subsequently form part of the process of submitting the Dean candidates’ names to the Rector of Universitas Gadjah Mada. The next stages will be carried out in accordance with the procedures established by the Selection Committee.
The selection process for the FEB UGM Dean candidates began with the registration period from July 1–14, 2026, followed by an information session on July 7, 2026; verification of the Dean candidates on July 22, 2026; the solicitation of aspirations on July 27, 2026; and the determination of the Dean candidates through the Faculty Special Senate Meeting on August 10, 2026.
