There is a different atmosphere in the Master of Management, Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Gadjah Mada (MM FEB UGM), which is a new building with an area of 720 square meters located behind the MM UGM campus. The building is the Leadership Hall for the Master of Management (MM) Study Program FEB UGM, which was inaugurated on Tuesday (14/12) by the Rector of UGM, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, M.Eng., D.Eng.,. The arena building for MM UGM students provides facilities for softskill development and a multifunctional arena, namely as leadership development and an arena for developing student talent and interest in sports and arts. The Leadership Hall building provides activities for futsal, volleyball, basketball, badminton, business fun games, as well as space for the development of extracurricular soft skills activities.
Dean of FEB UGM, Dr. Eko Suwardi, hopes that this leadership hall building can be used properly by students. "Hopefully the leadership hall building can be utilized as well as possible like a central building", he said.
Head of MM FEB UGM Study Program, Hani Handoko, M.B.A., Ph.D. said that the purpose of this building is in line with the mission of FEB UGM. "Our mission is to develop strategic business leaders. We hope this building will be a place to hone students to become future leaders," said Dr. Hani.
Dr. Hani said that the leadership hall building is expected to facilitate MM students in honing leadership.
"This facility is an integral part of leadership development at MM FEB UGM," he said. Because according to Hani, to become a leader, students should not only be equipped with knowledge, but also be supported by the development of leadership attitudes and character.
In line with Dr. Hani's statement, Rector of UGM, Prof. Panut Mulyono, said that the university was very enthusiastic if the faculties and study programs provided space and facilities for students to hone their abilities to become future leaders. Because, according to Panut, the spirit of leadership is not only born from academic activities, but also non-academic activities.
"Leaders not only grow from college, but sports activities also foster leadership because they are taught to be ready to lose and win," said Prof. Panut.
He appreciated MM FEB UGM for building facilities for students with a leadership hall building which is expected to be a place to gather and discuss supporting student activities so that students can grow and develop according to their talent and interest.
