Perry Warjiyo

Alumni Family of Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (KAFEGAMA) on Sunday (27/06/2021) held the 3rd KAFEGAMA National Conference. KAFEGAMA National Conference was held online considering the high number of Covid-19 spreads in a number of regions in Indonesia. Although it was held online, this event received very good enthusiasm from the alumni. A total of 130 representatives from the Central Executive and Regional Executives of KAFEGAMA, alumni, and invited guests who were present added to the atmosphere that took place into a friendly and harmonious relationship like KAFEGAMA’s jargon.

The third KAFEGAMA National Conference discussed a number of agendas, including the submission of accountability reports and evaluation of the work program of the 2018-2021 KAFEGAMA Committee, sharing sessions, organizational strategic decision making, and the election of the Chairman of KAFEGAMA for the 2021-2024 Period. Based on the results of the meeting, Perry Warjiyo, who also serves as the Governor of Bank Indonesia for period 2018-2021, was re-elected as Chairman of KAFEGAMA for the 2021-2024 period.

In his remarks, Perry humbly said that he was not the type of person who had ambitions to pursue positions. “I was educated not to pursue a position, but if given a mandate, God willing, it will be carried out as well as possible, because this (mandate) talks about how we can provide benefits to others, to the alma mater,” he explained.

On the same occasion, Perry described several steps or roadmaps that KAFEGAMA will take over the next three years. First, KAFEGAMA will support academic quality to prepare students who graduate from FEB UGM to be better prepared to face the new era. Secondly, KAFEGAMA will help strengthen the UGM Alumni network which aims to form Human Resources (HR) who are ready to become national leaders in the future. Third, formulate a sustainability policy to raise KAFEGAMA both in the national and international arena. For the last, KAFEGAMA will expand its management at the regional and regional levels as a basis for empowering alumni. One way to realize these steps, according to Perry, is the involvement of students and alumni in the Kampus Merdeka Program.

“I invite all participants and alumni, especially those present today to participate in the success of an independent campus with the support of the campus,” he explained.

“In the future, KAFEGAMA must expand the management network at the regional level, this must be expanded again so that this KAFEGAMA can become a forum for FEB UGM alumni to strengthen friendship and togetherness. Stay friendly, harmonious, and migunani”, concluded Perry.

Also present at the National Conference, the Chairman of Alumni Family of Universitas Gadjah Mada (KAGAMA), Ganjar Pranowo. In his remarks, the Governor of Central Java welcomed the implementation of the 3rd KAFEGAMA National Conference and congratulated Perry Warjiyo on his re-election as chairman of KAFEGAMA. ” If get along in harmony like this, very happy for suddenly informed that the chairman has been elected, congratulations to Mas Perry, congratulations KAFEGAMA, I wish you more success,” said Ganjar briefly with a typical Javanese accent.
