Orientation Day, Introduction to FEB UGM for Foreign Students

On Thursday (27/1) the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) held an online Orientation Day to welcome incoming foreign students from undergraduate and postgraduate programs who will take part in the exchange program at FEB UGM this semester. This event aims to introduce FEB UGM to international students. A total of 9 foreign students from postgraduate programs and 14 foreign students from undergraduate programs attended this event.
The event was opened with remarks by Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, M.Com., Ak., CA. as the Dean of FEB UGM. After that, the event continued with a brief presentation related to the study programs and courses offered by each Head of the Undergraduate Study Program. Luluk Lusiantoro, SE, M.Sc., Ph.D, as Head of the Office of International Affairs, AUN-BE Secretariat, and Public Relations also gave an introduction to the International Office, regulations at UGM, and an overview of life in Yogyakarta, especially at UGM.
Not only that, the students were also given an introduction regarding the KRS mechanism, the academic system of FEB UGM (SINTESIS), and the facilities and units available at FEB UGM which was delivered by Wieda Herdiana, SS, M. Si., as Section Head of Academic and Student Affairs, and OIA PR team representative. In addition, there were also representatives from the Global Leadership Forum (GLF FEB UGM) and the Student Executive Board (BEM KM FEB UGM) who were present at this event to provide an introduction to student activities that foreign students could participate in.
The event was closed with an ice breaking session in the form of a “blind date”. In this session, each foreign student is divided into several available breakout rooms. This session aims to socialize foreign students who will together undergo the exchange program.
