The Master of Development Economics Study Program Celebrates 28th Anniversary

On Friday (9/6), the Master of Development Economics (MEP) Study Program, Faculty of Economics adn Business UGM held the 28th MEP FEB UGM Anniversary Celebration. This event was held offline at the MEP FEB UGM Building. Some of the FEB UGM academic communities also attended this thanksgiving event, including Faculty Leaders, Departments, Study Programs, Lecturers, Office of the Head of FEB Administration, Head of FEB Head of Section, MEPVAGAMA, KAFEGAMA MEP, Professional Staff, and MEP Students. The event began with the singing of the Indonesia Raya and the Gadjah Mada Hymn together by the audience.

The event continued with a welcome session by Akhmad Akbar Susamto, S.E., M.Phil., Ph.D., Head of the MEP FEB UGM Study Program. In his remarks, he congratulated MEP’s anniversary and explained the launch of the thesis manual and soft skills module. The Dean of FEB UGM remarked on the next session, represented by Gumilang Aryo Sadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and FEB UGM Alumni. He hopes there will be a collaboration between FEB and MEP to achieve various outcomes, such as in academics, research, and others.

The next activity, as well as the core of the event, was the reading of the thanksgiving prayer for the 28th Anniversary of the MEP FEB UGM Study Program, which was accompanied by a cone-cutting session as a symbol of thanksgiving and a form of hope that MEPs can always contribute and be committed to economic development in Indonesia. Akhmad Akbar Susamto, Ph.D. accompanied by Diyah Putriani, Ph.D. (Secretary of the MEP Study Program), cut the tumpeng, then handed it over to Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, Ph.D., Eny Sulistyaningrum, Ph.D., as well as MEP elders namely Prof. Insukindro and Prof. Lincoline Arshad.

The activity continued with an awarding session to the Kantor Jasa Penilai Publik (KJPP) as an apprentice partner who has been pleased for several years to accept and assist in the practical learning process for MEP students, especially the Concentration of Property Appraisal and Business Appraisal. Gumilang Sahadewo, Ph.D., Akhmad Akbar Susamto, Ph.D., and Diyah Putriani, Ph.D presented the awards. The last event was awarded the best MEP education staff in 2023 to Sri Hidayat and Sri Harjani, which Diyah Putriani, Ph.D, handed over. Congratulations on the Anniversary of MEP FEB UGM! We hope MEP will be more advanced and consistently contribute to economic development in Indonesia.
