Based on the high scores of achievements and the competitive interest of students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM),Β on Tuesday (6/6), the Economic Study Community (ESC) and the Career and Student Development Unit (CSDU) FEB UGM launched a Competition Community in the Kick-Off event. The Competition Community Kick-Off was held at Djarum Hall and invited Arizona Mustika Rini, SE, M.Bus(Acc)., PhD, Ak., CA, as Chair of CSDU, and Sulthan Farras, FEB UGM Alumni who had served as UGM Student President and made brilliant achievements at the national and international level.

The event began with a background presentation and a brief overview of the Competition Community plans by Arizona. The liveliness of the FEB student competitions can be seen from the heated discussion about competitions and wins, for example, in the IMA Asia-Pac Student Case Competition 2023, the Deloitte Tax Challenge Competition, and various other prestigious annual competencies. Therefore, the FEB UGM Competition Community was initiated and managed by CSDU and ESC in facilitating FEB students in competition activities.

Then, the kick-off was followed by a presentation of the scheme and facilities by Khoirul Fadly as Chair of the ESC. Fadly explained that the Competition Community is divided into Auditing, Business and Essay Community. Launching from BPPM Equilibrium (2023), this Community provides an integrated program to develop its members, including Mentoring, which is held once a month; Race info shared via Google Calendar and group chat; Upgrading in the form of providing skills that support the competition; Coaching/Sharing Sessions are held through group chats and direct meetings with coaches online and offline. The FEB Competition Community also presents experienced mentors who continuously update competition information and sponsor progressive training activities.

The event ended with a sharing session by Sulthan Farras. He described his experience of ups and downs participating in competitions while studying at FEB UGM and the benefits of competitions that he experienced when he entered the world of work. Sulthan also explained the importance of using a framework in running the competition to get maximum results. The sharing session was also complemented by a question and answer session, which was enthusiastically attended by the kick-off audience.
