The “BASKET DAYS” Match Enlivened the 68th Anniversary of FEB UGM

In order to celebrate the 68th Anniversary, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), held several sports activities, one of which was a basketball match. A Coaching Clinic activity was held with two Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) professional basketball players, Ale Mustofa and Ferdian Ravanelli, to equip potential participants. This session is attended by lecturers, staff, and FEB UGM students who will compete. The basketball competition “BASKET DAYS” lasted two days, 14-15 August 2023, which was held at the Leadership Hall, Master of Management (MM) FEB UGM.

This basketball match was attended by eight teams, each consisting of a mixture of lecturers, staff, and students, both men and women. The eight competing teams are Nurture Tomahawks, Entrepreneurship Tigers, Critical Thinking Knights, Societal Impact Jets, Sustainability Turbos, Resilience Blues, Digital Fluency Thunders, and Future Leader Rocks. The team names are taken from the vision and mission of FEB UGM itself. On Monday (14/07), the preliminary round was held. Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Didi Achjari, S.E., M.Com., Akt., wished all the competing teams a happy match and hoped that this match could become a good momentum to establish harmony for the FEB UGM academic community.

The eight teams were divided into four rounds of matches. The Nurture Tomahawks team won the match over the Entrepreneurship Tigers team, scoring 26-12. The Societal Impact Jets team won the match over the Critical Thinking Knights team, scoring 17-14. The Future Leader Rocks team won the match over the Digital Fluency Thunders team, scoring 15-12. Meanwhile, the Sustainability Turbos team won the game over the Resilience Blues team, scoring 46-19. From the preliminary round, there were four semifinalists: Nurture Tomahawks, Societal Impact, Future Leader Rocks, and Sustainability Turbos.

On Tuesday (15/07), the semifinal round was held. The Societal Impact Jets team managed to win over the Nurture Tomahawks team with a score of 28-24. Meanwhile, the Sustainability Turbos team managed to win over the Future Leader Rocks team with a score of 45-19. From the results of the third-place match, the Future Leader Rocks team won over the Nurture Tomahawks team with a score of 31-23. Meanwhile, the final match was held immediately after, with the Societal Impact Jets against the Sustainability Turbos team. The Societal Impact Jets team won over the Sustainability Turbos team with a score of 23-17. Congratulations to the Societal Impact Jets team for winning first place!
