FEB UGM Releases 170 Students at the Graduation of the Undergraduate Program Period IV of the 2022/2023 Academic Year

On Thursday (24/08), the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) conferred degrees upon 170 students in the Graduation Ceremony for the Bachelor's Degree Program of the 4th Period of the 2022/2023 Academic Year. The graduates comprised 74 students from the Accounting program, 51 from the Economics program, and 45 from the Management program. The graduation process was divided into two stages: the university-level graduation, held at Grha Sabha Pramana, and the faculty-level graduation, which took place in the Learning Center foyer of FEB UGM.
The university-level graduation session began at 08.00 AM WIB with the singing of the Indonesian Raya and the Universitas Gadjah Mada Hymn. Then, Prof. Dr. Wening Udasmoro, S.S., M.Hum., DEA., the Vice-Rector for Education and Teaching, delivered a few words of welcome. The rector's message was subsequently read out.
The event continued with the presentation of degree certificates to students with the highest cumulative grade point average (GPA) from each faculty. FEB was represented by Raden Roro Ulinnuha Cahyadewi Setiawati (Accounting), with a GPA of 3.89. The certificates were then handed out to each graduate. FEB graduates were the last to receive degree certificates in this process. The session then continued with reading the UGM Alumni Pledge and entertainment by the University Student Choir (PSM) of UGM.
Then, around 12:30 PM, FEB graduates proceeded to the Learning Center Building of FEB UGM for the faculty-level graduation process. After registration and the opening by the student band as well as the master of ceremony, the graduates again sang the Indonesian national anthem and the Gadjah Mada University Hymn. The event continued with reading the graduation report and student achievements by Sekar Utami Setiastuti, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., the Chair of the Economics Bachelor's Degree Program at FEB UGM.
A representative of the graduates, also represented by Raden Roro Ulinnuha Cahyadewi Setiawati (Accounting) as the highest GPA achiever in this graduation period, then delivered a speech. "Whatever path we choose in the future, I want to remind all of our friends and myself that, thanks to His grace, we have successfully undergone the forging process at FEB UGM. Therefore, for all the challenges and opportunities that await, let's continue to serve with empathy and dedication. Believe that as long as we intend to progress, the results will not betray us," she expressed.
In addition to the students, representatives of the parents also gave speeches. On this occasion, Eydu Oktain Panjaitan, the parent of Christina Megawati Fredella Panjaitan, was present. From the Accounting program, Christina was the fastest graduate in this graduation period, completing her studies in 3 years, 9 months, and 5 days.
The event proceeded with a speech from the Family of the Faculty of Economics and Business Alumni of Universitas Gadjah Mada Yogyakarta (KAFEGAMA), delivered by Edwin Hidayat Abdullah. The speech was conducted online with a prerecorded video. Edwin is an alumnus of the Economics program, class of 1989. Currently, he serves as the Head of Cooperation at KAFEGAMA and the Deputy CEO of PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero).
Following this session, the Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, S.E., M.Com., A.K., C.A., delivered a few words of welcome. Prof. Didi expressed appreciation for the 15 graduates who were recipients of the KIP Kuliah, formerly known as the Bidikmisi program, which supports financially disadvantaged undergraduate students. He also congratulated one of the graduates from Papua, Astriya Kuda (Management), highlighting the inclusivity presented at FEB UGM. "As the Faculty of Economics and Business leaders, we congratulate you and apologize for any mistakes we may have made during your education," Prof. Didi concluded.
Afterwards, Prof. Didi presented awards to outstanding graduates and affixed KAFEGAMA pins. The graduates who received awards during this graduation period are as follows:
- The youngest graduate was Fathah Oscar (Accounting), with a GPA of 3.80 and an age of 20 years, 9 months, and 5 days.
- The fastest graduate was achieved by Christina Megawati Fredella Panjaitan (Accounting) with a GPA of 3.67 and a study period of 3 years, 9 months, and 5 days.
- The highest GPA Graduates were achieved by Raden Roro Ulinnuha Cahyadewi Setiawati (Accounting) with a GPA of 3.89, Arhamma Madhani Addilansa (Economics) with a GPA of 3.86, and Nabila Kairina Warastri (Management) with a GPA of 3.86.
Towards the end of the event, Imam Muslih led a collective prayer for all FEB UGM graduates. This sequence marked the end of the graduation ceremony for this period. The graduates then engaged in a group photo session with their fellow students.
