Alumni Contribution to Institution: Handover of KAFEGAMA Financial Assistance to FEB UGM

Thursday (2/11), financial assistance was officially handed over from the Alumni Family of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Special Region of Yogyakarta (KAFEGAMA DIY) to the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM). The provision of assistance was carried out at the FEB UGM Alumni Corner, a new facility in the form of a particular room in the west wing of the faculty that can be used for KAFEGAMA member activities. Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, S.E., M.Com opened the event., Akt. as Dean of FEB UGM. “We would like to thank KAFEGAMA for providing scholarships and funds to support learning facilities at FEB UGM,” he said.

Then, Dr. Bogat Agus Riyono, M.Sc., Ak., CA., as Chair of KAFEGAMA DIY, also gave a speech. He stated that this assistance was still in its initial stages and was hoped to be sustainable in the future. “I also thank the faculty for providing (special) space for alumni,” he said. The event continued with remarks from Dr. Suparmono, M.Sc., Chair of the KAFEGAMA Open Golf Tournament 2023 Committee. Dr. Suparmono said, “Hopefully (the assistance from KAFEGAMA) will be useful for the students.”

Entering the main event, a symbolic handover of aid was carried out by KAFEGAMA to representatives from FEB UGM. Dr. Bogat Agus Riyono, M.Sc., Ak., CA represented KAFEGAMA. (Chairman of KAFEGAMA DIY), accompanied by Dr. Suparmono, M.Sc. (Chair of the KAFEGAMA Open Golf Tournament Committee). Meanwhile, FEB UGM was represented by Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, S.E., M.Com., Akt. (Dean of FEB UGM) who was accompanied by Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D. (Deputy Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation and Alumni).

Prof. Didi and Dr. Bogat signed the agreement document to hand over the aid. The amount of assistance provided by KAFEGAMA is Rp250,000,000.00. Details of the allocation of this assistance are as follows.

  1. The scholarship for FEB UGM students, with the amount of Rp100,000,000.00.
  2. Learning support facilities, in the form of renovation of the faculty canteen and grant of laptops for students who need them, amounting to Rp150,000,000.00.

The event closed with an explanation of the design of the new FEB UGM canteen, which will be renovated to accommodate student needs more optimally. KAFEGAMA assistance for FEB UGM is one manifestation of the faculty’s efforts to realize the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) mission. In this case, the SDG goal to be achieved is point four: creating high-quality and inclusive education. These efforts are reflected in assisting students with scholarships and learning facilities.
